The fire and twister combined to destroy the two-block structure as fire lighters were handicapped by low water pressure caused by broken water mains. Ki'emer, professor of Germanic languages, has been published recently by the Stan ford University press. The book, which Ki'emer has been preparing for the last 12 years, includes more than 1500 German language proverbs re flecting that country’s daily life. ! The work is entitled “German j Proverbs: And Proverbial Phras es with their English Counter parts.” JKremer believes these proverbs will “help foster an appreciation" of the language and culture” of Germany. A r.ative of Germany, the au thor has been on the University staff since 1928. He received a doctor of laws degree at the Uni j versify of Frankfort-on-Main in | 1924.
